Religious Quote: Joseph Ratzinger

A just laicism allows religious freedom. The state does not impose religion but rather gives space to religions with a responsibility toward civil society, and therefore it allows these religions to be factors in building up society.
Joseph Ratzinger

Not all moral issues have the same moral weight as abortion and euthanasia. There may be legitimate diversity of opinion even among Catholics about waging war and applying the death penalty, but not... with regard to abortion and euthanasia.
Joseph Ratzinger

Having a clear faith, based on the creed of the church is often labeled today as fundamentalism. Whereas relativism, which is letting oneself be tossed and swept along by every wind of teaching, look like the only attitude acceptable to today's standards.
Joseph Ratzinger

The wrath of God is a way of saying that I have been living in a way that is contrary to the love that is God. Anyone who begins to live and grow away from God, who lives away from what is good, is turning his life toward wrath.
Joseph Ratzinger

To me, its seems necessary to rediscover - and the energy to do so exists - that even the political and economic spheres need moral responsibility, a responsibility that is born in man's heart and, in the end, has to do with the presence or absence of God.
Joseph Ratzinger

The Cross is the approbation of our existence, not in words, but in an act so completely radical that it caused God to become flesh and pierced this flesh to the quick; that, to God, it was worth the death of his incarnate Son.
Joseph Ratzinger

We are moving toward a dictatorship of relativism which does not recognize anything as for certain and which has as its highest goal one's own ego and one's own desires.

An Adventure Through Time

Author’s Note-  In the fictional novel Nick of Time by Ted Bell, comes an exciting novel, containing adventures in the past. Battles at sea that are between life and death and a malevolent pirate that takes animals and humans for ransom. The adventure begins in the Nick of Time.

There are many ways to travel around the world. You can go on a boat, car, airplane, subway or train. But how about traveling through time, just by a little golden orb? Nick McIver, an adventurous and endeavor person, finds this golden orb that swept up onto his petite island called Greybeard Island. A treacherous discovery leads Nick and his family where no person has gone before.

Imagine you, your dog and your young sister all outside on the beach, swimming in the ocean, when you run into the most stunning treasure chest that your eyes ever saw, and it had your name on it? In the fictional novel, Nick of Time by Ted Bell, a twelve year old boy named Nick McIver and his six year old sister, Kate, discover a treasure chest that will lead them to the most treacherous battle at sea. Monstrous sea creatures, Nazis and the most petrifying pirate named Captain William Blood. Captain Blood, who travels through time capturing little children, holding them for ransom, will do everything in his power to possess this priceless machine. The Nazis on the other hand, happen to run into Nick along the way and take important friends and family from Nick. In order for Nick, Kate and his other friends to survive, Nick must fight the ruthless Captain Blood. The battle begins and the chance for survival is very unlikely. If Nick leads his friends and family into victory, then Nick McIver, a young boy of twelve years of age, will become a hero at sea.

Throughout the story, the author shows me how brave Nick is when he faces all of these dreadful figures. Ted Bell paints a clear picture of what is happening and where the adventure is happening. His words are very descriptive to help you understand what the story is about. Ted Bell has a very creative piece of mind when it comes to this book. Time travel isn’t easy and neither is traveling by cars these days. When I started to read this novel, it started off a little weird, but then once I got into the book, I was connected to it. The action, the battles and all of the situations in the book captured my attention to the point that I couldn’t stop. This amazing author wrote the most outstanding novel of all time and I can’t wait to read his next novel.

In addition, Nick and I are so much alike. We have a lot of things in common. We are both very prophetic, endeavor and love adventure. If I was Nick’s little sister Kate, then I would love to go on this crazy journey with him. Fighting Captain Billy Blood, meeting Nazis, tagging along with the most famous scientist Lord Hawke, and teaming up with some of the most smartest people on the planet! Although an adventure through time would change my life forever, for me, there is one thing that gets in the way. Fear. Surviving a great sea battle would be the hardest thing to do. Nick and his friends laugh in the face of fear. What I have learned in the ways of Nick McIver is don’t let fear stop you from discovering something extraordinary. Fight through fear and never let the fear control you.

Nick and his family went to war with some of the strangest, dreadful and cruel people that set sail on the ocean. Nick’s adventure all began when he found this petite, golden orb that washed up on his island. He never expected anything like battles at sea, monstrous creatures or a malevolent pirate to come and get in his way. Nick is only a young boy that has never experienced anything at sea. He will go from a young boy on a small island, to a hero at sea. This discovery lead his family into danger and victory. Nick of Time by Ted Bell teaches you that some incredible discoveries can lead to treacherous battles that you would never expect.
